The AI Factory: Architectural Evolution of Data Centers in the Age of AI and Digital Twins
Dr. Mark Kelly
SVP, Global Intelligent Power Technologies, Eaton
At Eaton, I lead the Centre for Intelligent Power, where we integrate AI into hardware and software systems to address real-world challenges across multiple industries. In addition, I oversee the Centre for Advanced Systems and Architectures (CASA), tasked with standardising software architectures and driving the adoption of digital standards across our product lines. This cross-functional initiative ensures that our technologies are both robust and adaptable in rapidly evolving markets.
Prior to joining Eaton in 2020, I held engineering and leadership roles at Intel, ultimately directing R&D efforts that led to multiple semiconductor solutions in IoT, industrial IoT, networking and edge computing. Along the way, I earned both a PhD and a Master of Science in Intelligent networks, machine learning and AI at University College Dublin.
The challenges and opportunities in power management are vast, spanning industries, research fields, and emerging technologies. Solving them requires more than technical advancement, it demands strong partnerships, shared expertise, and a broad ecosystem of innovation. I enjoy working across industries and academia, collaborating with subject matter experts to bridge ideas and accelerate progress. Expanding this ecosystem with the right partners is a priority, and I welcome the opportunity to connect with those exploring the future of intelligent power management and related topics.
